Hi! I’m Sandra (she/her), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Sherman Oaks, California.

Whether you are new to therapy or looking for someone who can understand you on a deeper level, I’m glad you’re here.

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming. There may be a part of you that has been carrying things alone for a long time, unsure if anyone will truly understand what you’ve been through.

If you’re feeling anxious, burned out, overwhelmed in relationships, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, you are not alone. Many of the people I work with are highly capable and compassionate toward others but struggle to extend that same understanding to themselves. They often find themselves caught in cycles of overthinking, people-pleasing, perfectionism, self-criticism, or emotional overwhelm without fully understanding why.

My role is to help you develop a deeper understanding of your inner world. Together, we will explore how your thoughts, emotions, relationships, and life experiences have shaped the ways you navigate the world today. When we understand our patterns with curiosity rather than judgment, new possibilities begin to emerge.

I view therapy as a space where we can make sense of the strategies that helped you survive but may no longer be serving you. Perhaps substances helped you cope with painful emotions. Maybe anger became a form of protection after experiences that left you feeling powerless. Or perfectionism developed as a way to avoid criticism, rejection, or shame. These responses often make sense when we understand the experiences that shaped them.

I specialize in working with childhood trauma, anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing, and substance use recovery. Together, we’ll get to the root of the issues that are keeping you stuck so that meaningful and lasting change becomes possible.

While this work can be deep, deep does not always mean painful. Therapy is not only about exploring wounds—it’s also about finding relief, connection, self-understanding, and creating a life that feels more aligned with who you truly are.
